Do you ever have days where you just feel irrationally upset?
Maybe it was something small someone said. Maybe it was a minor incident at work. Maybe it was someone rear-ending your car because they just weren’t paying attention while driving. Maybe it was absolutely nothing at all, but you just feel totally and completely upset.
So you take yourself to yoga. And although you feel slightly better afterward, you’re still having a hard time calming down.
In that case, there’s only one thing left to do: come home, make some chamomile tea, and hide in your bathtub while watching Law and Order SVU.
Oh, and don’t forget to do this lemon and honey face mask. For some reason I think the act of slathering gooey things on your skin sometimes helps relieve stress.
And even if you never find yourself feeling this way and you totally can’t relate, then maybe you just try this face mask for fun anyways…
Honey and lemon are an awesome combo.
They’re great when combined with ginger, they’re even better when combined with bourbon to kick a cold, and if you really need some detoxing, try combining them with some turmeric in this detox tonic.
This easy face mask combines honey and lemon with olive oil. Honey is full of antimicrobial properties, which helps to clean pores and clear up acne. Olive oil moisturizes the skin while the lemon juice helps to exfoliate, brighten skin, and fade scars/sun spots.
If you need a bit of extra exfoliating power, you can add sugar to make this a gentle sugar scrub. And if your skin is delicate and needs extra moisturizing after this mask, I always like to follow mine up with a little coconut oil.
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- Mix ingredients together.
- Wash face and apply mixture over face and neck area (avoiding eyes). Let sit for 15 - 20 minutes.
- Rinse with warm water and then finish with cool water (to close pores). Skin should feel soft and silky.

I have tried the honey, lemon face mask. Love it. Just curious, can the remainder be kept in a sealed container to use again, as this seems to make quite a bit at one time. Also how often do you use it?
Thanks, love all the great ideas! Keep up the great work
Hi Sonnet, what am I to do? When I put this mask, the honey keeps on rubbing down my face! What am I to do?
Sorry, I mean dribbling down my face.
I should ally rate this 5 stars! After the what I thought unsuccessful mask, my face felt so good. All the facial oil around my nose has disappeared too! Thanks for this recipe!
