Let’s be real… it doesn’t take a lot to get me excited about food.
I went to a fermenting demo a few weekends ago and ever since then I have been hands-down obsessed with kombucha. I’ve decided it’s time to finally start making my own so I can have a supply at my fingertips. (If this interests you, then definitely stay tuned as there will be a kombucha tutorial coming your way soon!)
Kombucha is one of my favorite fermented foods. If you’re new to kombucha, kombucha is a traditional fermented tea that tastes a bit tangy. Kombucha can be found at any health food store and comes in a variety of flavors. I know that a lot of folks are intimidated by kombucha so I wanted to create a fun drink to show that kombucha doesn’t have to be a strange healthfood store concoction – it can be a beautiful mocktail too!
Kombucha is gaining popularity because it contains beneficial probiotics that support the digestive system. But kombucha newbies might not always enjoy its vinegar-like taste. However, when combined with ginger and grapefruit, this kombucha “mimosa” becomes a delicious and powerful tonic full of nutrients that support the digestive system, allowing you to get all of the benefits while masking any tangy flavors.2
