If you are reading this, I hope you are lounging somewhere with your feet up, sipping a cup of delicious tea, and maybe even curled up with a cozy blanket?
Wherever you are, I sincerely hope you are not doing what I am doing… which is, crouching over a laptop in a way-too-crowded coffee shop, where I have been frantically trying to get through all of my deadlines and just trying to make it a quarter of the way through my to-do list. December is crazy.
If you’re like me and are still trying to finalize gifts for a few folks on your list, I hope these ideas are helpful!
Zoodles Spiralizer Cookbook + Spiralizer
I believe that healthy food is the foundation for a healthy life and one of the best ways we can take care of ourselves is to eat better. If you’re looking for a unique gift for loved ones (or yourself), treat them to a copy of the Zoodles Spiralizer Cookbook.
I wrote this book for folks like you and me who want to eat healthier and take better care of ourselves, but also love to eat delicious food! The cookbook features 75 fresh, flavorful spiralizing recipes for Italian pastas, soups, Asian noodle dishes, and salads!
Raw Spice Bar
Any cook knows how much spices can impact a meal. Spices are one of my favorite gifts to give and receive and this is where Raw Spice Bar comes in. I’ve had my Raw Spice Bar subscription for awhile and it’s a fun way to gift some creative inspiration to your favorite home chef!
Raw Spice Bar is a monthly subscription box delivering small batch, freshly-ground spice blends directly to your (or the gift recipient’s) door:
- Discover the flavors of a new region each month
- Includes 3 freshly made flavor kits, created with unique and new ingredients
- Globally inspired recipes, customized for your diet
Fermented beverages like kombucha or (non-alcoholic) ginger beer are a great way to add more beneficial probiotics to your diet. If you know someone who loves kombucha, but has yet to make their own, how about giving them a kombucha kit? This Kombucha Starter Kit from The Kombucha Shop has everything you need to get started and also comes with pH strips and a helpful tutorial!
(Healthy) Dessert Cookbooks
Know someone with a sweet tooth? I really love Bare Root Sweets by Angela Gallardo and The Paleo Chocolate Lover’s Cookbook by Kelly V. Brozyna. Both books are gluten-free, grain-free, and paleo, and have lots of inspiration for healthy treats!
Matcha Tea Kit
Have a friend who’s trying to ditch the coffee habit? Help them out with some matcha tea! Matcha is green tea leaves that have been ground into a fine powder. It is prepared by mixing the powder with hot water, and then whisking it (traditionally with a bamboo brush) until it’s nice and frothy. Look for an organic matcha tea powder, and I personally like this kit since it comes with an electric whisk.
Coconut Facial Oil
Is there any other product out there which is so versatile for food and beauty needs? I discovered Skinny & Co’s Facial Oil awhile back and it has become one of my favorite products for removing makeup, cleansing skin, and moisturizing. It also helps to reduce irritation and restore pH balance. Plus, it smells sooo delicious! Their blend of lavender with roman chamomile and essential oils is so relaxing that it’s perfect for helping you unwind right before bed.
The Life-Changing Magic…
By now, I’m sure you’ve heard about The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. This book not only helped me to clear out my closet, but it gave me permission to get rid of objects that, while maybe still serving a purpose, simply don’t make me feel joyful. Most recently this included clearing out a stack of old cookbooks that every time I looked at them brought up bad memories. The bottom line: if it doesn’t spark joy, get it out of your life.
In a similar vein, I also love The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F*ck by Sarah Knight. This parody of Marie Kondo’s book follows a similar message and explains how to rid yourself of unwanted obligations, shame, and guilt–and “give your f*cks” instead to people and things that make you happy. Wise words, Sarah. 😉
Homemade Body Scrub Kit
One of my favorite DIY gifts was from a few years back when I created these Homemade Body Scrub kits that included all of the components so the recipient could make their own unique body scrub! Another option to make make the body scrub and then gift it along with this DIY whipped coconut body butter for a complete at-home spa treat!
Rise and Shine Alarm Clock
Looking for a gift for your significant other who hates mornings? Okay, maybe they don’t hate mornings… but maybe they really, really don’t like waking up so they snooze their alarm clock about 45 times before they actually wake up… and, let’s hope that they should never have to wake up before you or your morning experience is going to be simply delightful… Catch my drift? 😉
If this is you, then I cannot recommend a rise and shine alarm clock enough. I have an older model of this one by Verilux that I love and has worked great for the past 4+ years. (And clearly, it’s about time I get a separate one for my significant other.)
Obviously giving gifts to your loved ones isn’t all about material items and sometimes experiences can be the most meaningful. Some of my favorite “gifts” are simply experiences with someone – whether it’s going to a workout class with a friend, going out to dinner with a loved one, or going on a walk outside. In our busy world today, sometimes the best gift can be just giving the gift of quality time.
Hope you have a wonderful and healthy holiday season!
